Serbia sets October 3 deadline for diaspora voter registration

Serbian citizens residing abroad have until midnight on October 3 to submit requests to vote in the upcoming extraordinary parliamentary elections scheduled for October 25. The Ministry of State Administration and Local Self-Government has announced that registration must be completed through Serbian diplomatic-consular missions.

To be included in the unified voter list for voting abroad, applicants must provide their full name, the name of one parent, their unique identification number, and their residential address in Serbia, as well as their current address and location of residence abroad. Once a request is submitted, the relevant diplomatic mission forwards the data to the local administration in the voter's home municipality in Serbia, which then issues a formal decision.

Diaspora groups are actively organizing to inform citizens of their rights and encourage participation. The Republic Electoral Commission (RIK) determines voting locations abroad based on proposals from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The unified voter list is expected to be finalized by October 9, with the total number of voters known by October 22.
