Serbia shows lowest aging anxiety in Europe, health report finds

According to the 2026 ŠTADA Group health report, Serbians show the lowest levels of anxiety regarding aging compared to other Europeans. Only 40 percent of the Serbian population expressed concern about growing older, whereas populations in Lithuania (67 percent), the Czech Republic, Poland (65 percent), Spain, and France (62 percent) reported significantly higher levels of worry.

Despite lower anxiety about aging, the report indicates a proactive approach to health in Serbia. Approximately 68 percent of the population regularly monitors their blood pressure, and 81 percent would be willing to undergo genetic testing if it helped them live longer.

Across Europe, the primary health concerns are disease and the loss of physical strength. The report notes that 75 percent of Europeans value longevity, with the strongest desire to live longer observed in individuals with good mental health, suggesting that attitudes toward longevity are shaped by overall optimism and quality of life.
