Serbia begins one-time financial aid payments to pensioners
The Serbian government has begun distributing one-time financial aid to approximately 1.66 million pensioners and various social benefit recipients. The payments, which started on September 14, vary based on the recipient's August pension amount.
Pensioners receiving up to 31,092.11 dinars will receive 35,000 dinars, while those with pensions between 31,092.12 and 56,822 dinars will receive 27,500 dinars. Those with higher pensions will receive 20,000 dinars. Additionally, recipients of child benefits, social assistance, and combatant benefits will receive 25,000 dinars, while certain combatants not receiving regular benefits will receive 10,000 dinars.
This initiative is part of a broader 980.6 million euro support package aimed at mitigating economic pressure and inflation. The package also includes tourist vouchers worth 10,000 dinars for pensioners, which are valid until November 1, and measures to reduce medicine prices. A separate one-time payment of 6,000 dinars for adult citizens requires application via the Treasury Administration portal by September 21, with payments scheduled for late September.
