Serbia updates administrative fees for IDs and driver's licenses

The Government of Serbia has adopted a new decree amending the types of services provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the associated fee amounts. These changes are scheduled to take effect on September 12.

Under the new regulations, certain fees will be paid directly to the Institute for Minting and Coinage to cover production costs. This includes 5,880 dinars for travel documents issued under asylum and temporary protection regulations, and 2,028 dinars for temporary residence permits, unified permits, and ID cards for foreigners. Additionally, ID card production costs for individuals granted asylum will be 1,920 dinars, effective October 1.

For vehicle-related documents, the decree specifies fees of 444 dinars for a driver's license, 468 dinars for a probationary license, and 858 dinars for a vehicle registration certificate. Registration stickers for internal and external use will cost 342 dinars each.

License plate costs vary by vehicle type and preference. A pair of plates for heavy four-wheelers, passenger vehicles, buses, trolleybuses, and freight vehicles—including those of historical significance—will cost 1,380 dinars, while duplicates for these categories will cost 2,730 dinars. Custom plates chosen by citizens for historical vehicles (oldtimers) will cost 13,344 dinars per pair or single rear plate.
