Balkan region weather and daylight saving time updates

Various seasonal and meteorological updates have been issued for the Balkan region. Regarding daylight saving time, clocks are scheduled to move back one hour on the night between October 25 and 26, 2026, in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia. While the European Parliament previously moved to abolish seasonal time changes, a consensus has not been reached, and the European Commission has released official schedules through 2031.

In terms of weather, meteorologists report significant shifts in Serbia. High temperatures are expected to persist through early September, with peaks around September 5 and 9, before a notable cooling trend begins after September 10. Additionally, meteorologist Nedim Sladić clarified that the extreme El Niño phenomenon, while impacting the Pacific, does not directly affect the weather patterns in Bosnia and Herzegovina or the broader Balkan region.
