Serbian and Bosnian Film Festivals Award Top Honors in July

The Slaughter Art Festival in Doljevac, Serbia, concluded its fifth edition on 3‑4 July, presenting its Golden Macak awards. The short‑form horror "Zlatni majmun" by Petar Pešuta received the Golden Monkey award, while the Danish omnibus "Predivna ljudska bića" earned the long‑form prize. A special jury accolade was given to the film "Gonič" directed by Mihajlo Dragaš for its inventive use of H. F. Lavkraft’s iconography.

Later in the month, the Avant&Una Film Festival in Bihać, Bosnia‑Herzegovina, ran from 26‑31 July. Its Grand Prix "Unska sirena" and other main‑program awards were decided by an international jury chaired by Đelo Hadžiselimović, with members Emina Muftić and Bobby Boško Grubić. The festival highlighted a selection of feature‑length narrative and documentary films within the scenic Una river valley, reinforcing its status as a key cultural event in the region.
