Serbian boxing teams train at Jahorina ahead of Mediterranean Games
The senior and junior Serbian boxing squads began joint preparations at the high‑altitude Olympic centre on Jahorina, where they will train until 21 July. Senior head coach Milan Piperski selected nine boxers—Ljubiša Staletović (‑50 kg), Nikola Maksimović, Artur Ngapetijan (‑55 kg), Dimitrije Gorbenk (‑65 kg), Filip Džida, Jovan Nikolić (‑70 kg), Almir Memić (‑75 kg), Rastko Simić (‑80 kg) and Marko Pižurica (‑90 kg). Junior coach Branislav Jovičić called up eight boxers—Pavle Popović (‑50 kg), Filip Stanojević (‑55 kg), Nikola Bogatinoski (‑60 kg), Petar Sandić (‑65 kg), Vasilije Đurđević (‑70 kg), Nikola Jovičić (‑75 kg), Đorđe Đorić (‑80 kg) and Veljko Ristić (‑85 kg). The coaching staff also includes Jevgenij Micov, Jevgenij Bandov and Horhe Luis Frometa.
The training camp aims to boost physical condition and technical‑tactical readiness for the 2026 Mediterranean Games in Taranto (20 August‑4 September) and the European Championships in Sofia (15‑26 September). After Jahorina, both squads will move to Palić Lake for final preparations; seniors will depart for Taranto, while juniors will head to the European Championships in Loznica and later the World Championships in Budva.
