Minister Nikola Selaković approves more than 60 million dinars for cultural projects in Serbia

Serbian Culture Minister Nikola Selaković signed a series of agreements allocating over 60 million dinars to strengthen cultural infrastructure and heritage preservation. In the municipality of Knić, 4,698,000 dinars were earmarked for a concert piano for the local cultural centre, a new visual identity for the centre’s website, and a digital‑heritage project for the Grža region.

In Prokuplje, two contracts totalling 31,250,000 dinars will fund the first phase of construction for a new building of the Rade Draínac public library and equipment for digitising the Toplica museum’s large‑format documents. Selaković highlighted this as one of the largest allocations under the “Cities in Focus 2026” programme.

Additionally, the Ministry approved 31,280,000 dinars for 16 projects of the Archaeological Institute in Belgrade, including 9,790,000 dinars dedicated to work on the ancient site of Medijana and plans for an archaeological visitor centre. The minister stressed the importance of preserving and presenting archaeological finds to the wider public.

These investments are part of a broader strategy to modernise cultural venues, improve digital access to heritage, and boost cultural tourism across Serbia.
