Serbian military exercise causes alarm in Stubica village
Residents of the Stubica settlement in Serbia reported distress following an unannounced military exercise involving gunfire in village streets. Local citizens expressed fear and stress, noting that the sudden activity occurred in public areas where children frequently pass. Some residents claimed that military personnel ignored attempts to seek information during the event and reportedly instructed people not to film the activities.
The Serbian Ministry of Defense responded by stating that training activities in the wider Pasuljanske livade region had been reported. According to the Ministry, the operation was a planned inspection by the Defense Inspectorate to assess the operational and functional capabilities of a special unit in an urban environment.
The Ministry emphasized that only training ammunition was used and that relevant authorities, including the Ministry of Internal Affairs and local self-government bodies, had been notified of the plans involving field vehicles, drones, and training ammunition.
