Serbian minibus crash in Montenegro kills woman, injures child

On 12 July, a Serbian minibus carrying 17 passengers crashed into a wall near Lipci on the Kotor‑Nikšić road in Montenegro and overturned. A 21‑year‑old woman from Niš was killed and 16 others were injured. The most seriously hurt was a 10‑year‑old boy who spent days on mechanical ventilation at the Podgorica clinic before being air‑lifted by a Serbian government plane to the University Clinical Center in Niš for ongoing treatment.

The boy’s father described the moments before the impact, noting that the driver ignored warnings from passengers to slow down on the steep descent. After the crash the driver, Lj. M., a 68‑year‑old from Kotor, was arrested and placed in detention for endangering public safety.
