Serbian officials call for constant remembrance of Croatia's Operation Storm and Jasenovac genocide

Vladimir Gaic, president of Serbia's People's Party, urged the country to continuously remind the public of Croatian crimes during the 1995 Operation Storm and the Jasenovac genocide. He said schools should teach this history, noting that about 250,000 Serbs were expelled and roughly 2,000 were killed in the operation, and warned against any attempts to question Serbian victims. Gaic also criticized Montenegro's participation in commemorations, calling it a matter of basic taste.

Savo Strbac, director of the Veritas Documentation Center, echoed the sentiment, stating that Croatia celebrates while Serbs mourn. He described current Serbian‑Croatian relations as extremely low and announced a series of commemorative events in Banjska, Banja Luka and other locations, including memorial services, exhibitions and film screenings to mark the 31st anniversary of the exodus of Serbs from the former Republic of Serbian Krajina.
