The student movement in Serbia has officially entered the political arena by registering the citizens' group ‘Studentska lista – Studenti pobeđuju’ for the snap parliamentary elections scheduled for October 25. The movement, which emerged from protests following a fatal canopy collapse in Novi Sad that killed 16 people, launched its campaign with a large rally in Novi Sad.

The electoral list features approximately 250 candidates, many of whom are university professors and experts. The group has received support from various political entities, including the Kreni-Promeni movement, the Green-Left Front, the Democratic Party (DS), and ProGlas. Additionally, groups such as PODES and ‘Nišlije da se pitaju’ have pledged their support, framing the movement as a matter of patriotism.

As the campaign begins, the movement is preparing to collect the 10,000 required signatures once the Republic Electoral Commission releases the necessary forms. The movement's platform focuses on addressing corruption and seeking accountability for the Novi Sad tragedy, framing the election as a choice between ‘Serbia or the mafia’.
