Serbian towns get funding for media projects and rural cultural event
A sample of 28 Serbian local governments showed that most project‑co‑financing funds were awarded to larger municipalities and their main radio‑TV stations. The biggest recipients were media companies based in Niš – Zona plus (41.43 million RSD), Kopernikus (31.30 million RSD) and INI media (27.50 million RSD) – as well as outlets in Leskovac (TV Leskovac 20.13 million RSD) and Vranje (Radio‑TV Vranje 21.28 million RSD and Vranjska plus 21.23 million RSD). Several municipalities, such as Surdulica and Gadžin Han, had not yet published the contest results, and others like Trgovište, Blač and Vladičin Han had not released allocation decisions by the end of the observation period.
The city of Kragujevac received a non‑reimbursable grant of 519,170 RSD (including VAT) for the 2026 "Miholjskih susreta sela" programme. The event will be held on 26 September in the village of Trmbas and aims to promote rural potentials, local tradition, gastronomy and cultural‑artistic creation. Activities include a cooking competition for goulash and beans, intended to foster community interaction, preserve traditional food‑preparation methods, and strengthen social, cultural and sporting life in the surrounding villages.
