Serbian truck driver’s death investigated after body found in Bulgaria

Two truck drivers from Novi Pazar, Serbia, have died in separate incidents on the Balkan border. Seventy‑year‑old Harun B. was killed at the Gradina crossing while trying to repair his truck. Twenty‑six‑year‑old Belmin L. disappeared after leaving his truck on the Turkish side of the border and walking into Bulgaria. His body was discovered under an overpass near the Kapitan Andrejevo crossing, about 10 km from the Turkish frontier.

Bulgarian police are investigating multiple scenarios for the younger driver’s death, including homicide, suicide and a traffic‑related accident, and are reviewing surveillance footage from the area. The family and the community in Novi Pazar are demanding answers as the cause of death remains unconfirmed.
