Serbia's Belmužijada and Dani Bureka festivals draw thousands

The 20th edition of Belmužijada took place in Svrljig from July 31 to August 2, celebrating the traditional cheese‑and‑flour dish with new mascots, a large balloon ride and evening concerts. Organisers said the three‑day event attracted between 60,000 and 100,000 visitors, boosting tourism for the town.

In Niš, the 23rd annual Dani Bureka festival gathered local and regional bakers to demonstrate the craft of making burek, discuss plans to protect the Niš‑burek brand and aim for a new record for the longest burek. The event highlighted the cultural importance of the snack and the skills of master bakers from Serbia and neighboring countries.
