Serdang Bedagai breaks ground on new Hajj and Umrah service center

Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak conducted the groundbreaking ceremony for the Integrated Hajj and Umrah Service Center (PLHUT) building in Serdang Bedagai, North Sumatra. The facility, located in Liberia Village, Teluk Mengkudu, is being built on strategic land donated by the Serdang Bedagai Regency government.

The project is scheduled for completion and handover by December 31, 2026. Simanjuntak noted that the establishment of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is a strategic policy by President Prabowo Subianto aimed at optimizing services for approximately 5.7 million Indonesian pilgrims. He emphasized the strict deadlines faced by the ministry due to the fixed dates of the Hajj pilgrimage and its responsibilities in foreign diplomacy and religious services.
