Sergej Poposki: Macedonian singer gains TikTok fame from Slovenian garage
Sergej Poposki, a 23-year-old singer from Prilep, North Macedonia, has emerged as a TikTok sensation. His vocal performances, recorded in a garage in Slovenia, have garnered significant attention, with some videos exceeding 170,000 views.
Poposki's musical background is deeply rooted in his family; his grandfather, a classically trained musician, conductor, and pianist, began teaching him piano and singing at the age of five. Although he initially intended to play the bass guitar, his vocal talent led him to enroll in the Matrix private music school at age 15 to refine his singing under the mentorship of Denis Dimoski.
Due to his powerful and emotional vocal style, some listeners have drawn comparisons to the legendary Macedonian singer Toše Proeski. Poposki has expressed that he views such comparisons as an honor but remains focused on establishing his own unique musical identity.
