Rise of Macedonian singer Sergej Poposki

Overview

Sergej Poposki, a 23-year-old singer from Prilep, North Macedonia, transitioned from a TikTok sensation to a performing artist on major regional stages.

Initially gaining viral attention through vocal performances recorded in a Slovenian garage, Poposki’s rise was supported by formal musical training that began at age five. His popularity on social media led to opportunities performing at venues such as Križanke in Ljubljana, Slovenia, where he served as an opening act for Željko Bebek.

Expanding his presence in the regional music scene, Poposki also premiered his new song and music video, ‘Jednom zauvijek’, in Zagreb. The artist, who currently resides in Ljubljana, has expressed a desire to maintain a sense of mystery in his work to allow listeners to connect personally with his music.

Building on this momentum, Poposki has reached a significant milestone with the release of his first original work. His career trajectory includes participation in various festivals, such as Ohrid Fest and Makfest, and he was awarded the Grand Prix at the WAF Awards in Skopje in 2026. Now residing in Dobrepolje, Slovenia, he continues to leverage his social media presence, which includes videos reaching over 170,000 views.
