Sergio Mattarella meets with Linate air disaster victims' families

Italian President Sergio Mattarella met with the families of the victims of the October 8, 2001, Linate airport air disaster. The meeting took place at the Milanese airport to commemorate the anniversary of the tragedy.

During the meeting, Mattarella expressed his condolences, stating that the pain of the event does not fade, but can be channeled into positive actions. He highlighted initiatives such as the planting of 118 trees and the provision of scholarships to encourage youth education as ways to honor the memory of those lost while working toward a future where such tragedies do not recur.
