Brazilian Electoral Court orders Sergio Moro to delete AI‑generated video
Judge Sandra Bauermann of the Tribunal Regional Eleitoral do Paraná (TRE‑PR) ordered the team of Senate candidate Sergio Moro to remove an artificial‑intelligence‑generated post that copied a social‑media publication by Sandro Alex and Rafael Greca. The court found the post violated the resolutions of the Tribunal Superior Eleitoral (TSE) on AI content, constituting unauthorized appropriation and risking voter deception. Moro was given 24 hours to delete the material, with a daily fine of R$ 5,000 for non‑compliance. The judge also ruled that a generic platform label such as “Information of AI” does not meet the legal requirement; the responsible party must disclose the specific AI technology and its scope.
The original video, released by Alex and Greca on 31 March, referenced a “future of Paraná” phone call between the gubernatorial candidates. Moro’s copied version, posted the following day, reproduced the opening scene, including Greca’s hand gesture, prompting the TRE‑PR’s intervention.
