Sergio Moro launches statewide campaign tour in Paraná

Senator Sergio Moro, the pre‑candidate of the Liberal Party (PL) for governor of Paraná, began a nine‑day tour of the state on July 9, visiting 15 municipalities. The itinerary includes stops in Jaguariaíva, Jacarezinho, Santo Antônio da Platina, Apucarana and Campo Mourão, with meetings alongside federal deputy Filipe Barros and former prosecutor Deltan Dallagnol. Moro says the trips aim to hear local demands on infrastructure, health, public security, economic development, job creation and municipal strengthening, and to shape the proposals of his upcoming campaign.

The tour follows growing scrutiny of Moro’s alliance with PL leader Valdemar Costa Neto, who was recently ordered by the Supreme Court to have up to R$ 119.2 million in assets blocked over allegations of irregular parliamentary amendment routing. Costa Neto denies wrongdoing, but the decision has raised questions about Moro’s anti‑corruption credentials, which have been central to his public image since the Lava Jato operation. The developments are expected to influence voter perception ahead of the Paraná gubernatorial race.
