Sergio Rico and family targeted in violent armed robbery in Seville

Former Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Sergio Rico and his family were victims of a violent armed robbery at their home in the La Juliana urbanization, located in Bollullos de la Mitación, near Seville. The incident occurred around 10:00 PM on Monday, October 19, while Rico, his wife Alba Silva, their two young children, Silva's mother, and a domestic worker were having dinner.

Five masked and gloved individuals entered the residence through the main door, reportedly taking advantage of the fact that the alarm system was not activated. The assailants allegedly forced their way into a room where the family had attempted to hide, leading to moments of extreme terror. Reports indicate that the intruders used violence, with some accounts suggesting Rico was tied up and that a firearm was held to Silva's mother's head.

The thieves stole various valuables, including jewelry, watches, and cash. While some reports mentioned physical assaults, Rico has since contacted media to clarify that he did not receive a beating. The family has filed a formal complaint with the Guardia Civil, who are currently investigating the crime. There are suspicions that the robbery may have been a professionally organized operation.
