Serhat Kılıç found dead in Istanbul home

Turkish actor Serhat Kılıç, known for his roles in television series such as ‘Seksenler’ and ‘Ezel’, was found dead in his home in the Kağıthane district of Istanbul on September 5. The 51-year-old actor was discovered by his partner, Özlem Esmergül, who found him unresponsive on a sofa.

While authorities are investigating the exact cause of death, medical reports noted bruising on his eyes, arms, and legs, though no external wounds were identified. Some reports suggest the actor had been struggling with health issues, including cancer. During the investigation, discrepancies were noted in the statements provided by Esmergül to the prosecutor.

Kılıç was laid to rest in Ankara following a funeral service at the Ahmet Hamdi Akseki Mosque. His death has drawn significant emotional responses from the arts community, including a tribute from fellow actor Eren Vurdem, who described him as a mentor and a generous individual.
