Serie A disciplinary rulings: suspensions for Gaetano and Tedesco
Following the third round of the Serie A football season, the Sporting Judge has issued several disciplinary sanctions. Atalanta midfielder Gianluca Gaetano has been suspended for one match and fined 10,000 euros for “gravely disrespectful” behavior toward an official.
Bologna faces multiple penalties: coach Domenico Tedesco received a two-match suspension and a 5,000 euro fine for similar conduct, while club president Joey Saputo has been barred from official activities until September 30, 2026, following offensive remarks made to match officials. Several clubs, including Venezia, Milan, Roma, Bologna, and Genoa, were issued various fines.
In regional football, the Eccellenza Puglia league also saw sanctions, including a five-match ban for Spinazzola player Nicola Scarimbolo. Additionally, disciplinary rulings for Serie C Group C included a 1,200 euro fine for Barletta due to security violations involving supporters, and sanctions for Foggia regarding the use of flares and liquids on the pitch.
