SernamEG and CFT Arica y Parinacota launch men's gender violence prevention initiative

The National Service for Women and Gender Equality (SernamEG) and the State Technical Training Center (CFT) of Arica y Parinacota have partnered to host the “Men for Change” workshop. The initiative aims to promote men as active agents in the prevention of gender-based violence.

Led by SernamEG regional acting director Sebastián Peirano Larenas, the session focused on male staff members to encourage reflection on socialized gender stereotypes and behaviors. The program is structured around three main pillars: promoting cultural change, strengthening institutional spaces, and developing safe environments. Lorena Ríos Echiburú, head of the Gender and Inclusion Unit at the CFT, noted that the activity represents a significant step in the institution's ongoing work regarding gender equality.
