Serrallés stabbing victim discharged from clinic after six days
Gustavo Adolfo III Mejía-Ricart Risk, a 23-year-old law student, was discharged from the Abel González clinic on Thursday after a six-day hospitalization. He had been treated for injuries sustained during a knife attack in the Serrallés sector of Santo Domingo.
The incident occurred in the early hours of September 12. According to the Ministerio Público, the victim was intercepted by a suspect, identified as Jhonny González, while attempting to enter his residential building. The suspect allegedly demanded the victim's belongings and attacked him with a knife in the building's lobby.
During the altercation, building security guard Augusto González Rodríguez was also injured while attempting to assist the victim. Authorities have used surveillance footage to trace the suspect's escape route to the Capotillo sector as part of the ongoing investigation.
