Servette FC criticizes AEK Athens over Derek Kutesa transfer
Servette FC sporting director John Williams has expressed frustration regarding the stalled transfer of Derek Kutesa to the Swiss club, accusing AEK Athens of a lack of respect during negotiations.
Williams stated that a minor issue arose during Kutesa’s medical examinations, leading Servette to modify the negotiation terms because the situation did not align with the original agreement reached with AEK. While an agreement has been reached with the 28-year-old player, Servette is currently waiting for a response from the Greek club regarding a revised proposal sent 48 hours ago.
To facilitate the transfer and recoup costs, Servette proposed adjusting the contract duration from five years to three. Williams emphasized that the club still intends to acquire the player but criticized AEK’s handling of the situation, stating, “AEK cannot insist that things remain as they are now, because this was not part of the agreement we had negotiated.” He added that the club should not be treated like a “milking cow.”
