Servicio Totonaco buses arrive in Poza Rica to launch new transit network

The first buses for the new Servicio Totonaco public transportation network have arrived in Poza Rica, Veracruz. This initiative is a coordinated effort between the Veracruz State Government and the local municipal government to modernize and expand transit options in the northern region.

The fleet will consist of 40 vehicles serving the conurbated areas of Poza Rica, Coatzintla, and Tihuatlán. The system features three strategic routes designed to connect residential, commercial, industrial, and educational sectors:

• Route 1 (Sam’s Club–Kawatzin): Travels through Cazones de Herrera and Jesús González Ortega, covering the Lamat Centro sector. • Route 2 (Mollejón–Centro): Connects Río Tuxpan, Victorino Ortega, the Conalep access point, 20 de Noviembre Avenue, and Central Oriente. • Route 3 (Totolapa–Halliburton/Petromex): Links the Totolapa community with industrial zones and school areas.

Fares are set at 13 pesos for users with a prepaid card and 15 pesos for cash payments. While the units have arrived, authorities have not yet announced the official start date for passenger service.
