Brazil holds national 'Dia D' vaccination mobilization this Saturday

Brazil is holding a national 'Dia D' vaccination mobilization this Saturday, August 22, as part of the 2026 Multivacination Campaign. The initiative aims to update vaccination records for children and adolescents under the age of 15, though services are available to all age groups.

The campaign offers 20 different vaccines from the National Immunization Program, including protection against polio, measles, hepatitis, meningitis, and HPV. Notably, this year marks the first inclusion of the 20-valent pneumococcal vaccine (Pneumo 20) for children under five. Health authorities are also maintaining indiscriminate vaccination strategies for measles in specific regions, such as São Paulo, due to rising cases in the Americas.

Local health departments across various municipalities—including Balneário Camboriú, Feira de Santana, Teixeira de Freitas, Indaiatuba, and others—have announced expanded hours and strategic vaccination points to facilitate access. Parents and guardians are advised to bring the child's vaccination card and identification to health units.
