Sesto al Reghena factory fire injures worker and produces kilometres‑visible black smoke

A fire broke out at a furniture‑mechanism manufacturing plant in Sesto al Reghena, Pordenone province, Italy. One employee was hospitalized with burns and smoke inhalation. A dense column of black smoke drifted for several kilometres, prompting local authorities to warn residents to keep windows closed.

Firefighters from Pordenone, Sacile, San Vito and extra units from Portogruaro, Latisana and Codroipo responded, using foam to prevent the flames from reaching other buildings. Technicians from the regional environmental agency are monitoring air quality as extinguishing operations continue.
