Seven detained as Bulgarian police seize 440 kg of party gas in Sozopol

Police in Sozopol, Bulgaria, detained seven individuals from various regions who were part of an organized network distributing party‑gas (nitrous oxide) along the Black Sea coast. The operation, led by Chief Inspector Ivaylo Dragiev of the Sozopol District Police, uncovered a pallet containing 80 five‑kilogram canisters, totaling about 440 kg, parked near a Billa store. The sealed containers were being transferred between vehicles before being loaded for sale to nightclubs and bars.

The seized quantity represents a record delivery aimed at minors and young adults, prompting the Interior Ministry to label the bust a priority in its campaign against illegal party‑gas distribution. Authorities seized the pallet, issued arrests, and reinforced ongoing efforts to curb the spread of narcotic substances in tourist venues on the Southern Black Sea.
