Seven-Eleven Japan to re-release popular in-store baked croissants
Seven-Eleven Japan has announced the third release of its popular ‘Kariju Wassan’ croissant, part of the ‘Seven Cafe Bakery’ line. The product is scheduled to be released sequentially at participating stores across Japan starting October 6.
The croissant is characterized by a triple texture described as ‘crispy on the outside, juicy, and chewy on the inside.’ It features dough made with 16 layers of fermented butter sheets and is finished in specialized in-store ovens to caramelize the sugar on the surface, enhancing its aroma and texture.
Following successful initial launches in May and August of this year, the company decided on this re-release due to high consumer demand for the authentic, freshly-baked experience provided by the in-store oven finishing process. The product is priced at approximately 230 yen (including tax).
