Seven killed in Brazil car crash involving influencer and marijuana
Seven people were killed in a head-on collision on the BR-251 highway in Salinas, Minas Gerais, following a high-speed police chase. The accident occurred on August 8 when a Fiat Cronos, carrying approximately 302 pounds of marijuana, ignored a police checkpoint and attempted to overtake four vehicles on a curve.
Among the deceased was Alana Alves da Silva, a 28-year-old social media influencer known as ‘Vampira 085’, who had nearly 60,000 followers. The driver of the Fiat, 24-year-old Pedro Yan Linhares Gutierrez, and passenger Ramon Silverio Nogueira, 19, also died at the scene. The collision with a GM Astra resulted in the deaths of all four occupants of the second vehicle, including three elderly men from Bahia.
Authorities reported that Gutierrez was driving without a license, was wearing an electronic ankle monitor, and had prior drug trafficking charges. Police recovered 164 packages of marijuana from the Fiat. One passenger from the Fiat survived the crash but remains in serious condition with a traumatic brain injury.
