Fatal highway collision in Minas Gerais

Overview

A high-speed police chase and subsequent head-on collision on the BR-251 highway in Salinas, Minas Gerais, resulted in seven fatalities. The incident began when a Fiat Cronos, driven by 24-year-old Pedro Yan Linhares Gutierrez, ignored a Federal Highway Police (PRF) stop order.

During the pursuit, the driver attempted to overtake four vehicles on a curve, entering the oncoming lane and colliding with a GM Astra. The crash killed all four occupants of the Astra and three individuals from the Fiat, including the driver and passenger Ramon Silverio Nogueira. One passenger from the Fiat survived with serious injuries.

Among the deceased was Alana Alves da Silva, a 28-year-old social media influencer known as ‘Vampira 085’. Authorities noted that Gutierrez was driving without a license, was wearing an electronic ankle monitor, and had prior drug trafficking charges. Police also seized approximately 137 kilograms (302 pounds) of marijuana from the vehicle.
