Seven Suspects Sentenced to Prison in Valledupar Drug Trafficking Probe

A Colombian judge ordered imprisonment for six of seven individuals alleged to belong to a micro‑trafficking network operating in Valledupar, Cesar department. The defendants – Angie Michell Prasca Reales, Luis Gabriel Ribón Castillo, Franklin David Caldera Pérez, Maihcol Andrés Bonet Gutiérrez, Luis David Arzusa Anaya, José David Freyle Torres and Jhon Jader Larios Díaz – were arrested on 20 May during police raids in the Villa Consuelo and Brisas de La Popa neighborhoods. Authorities seized narcotics, two firearms, ammunition of various calibers and two motorcycles.

The Fiscalía General de la Nación charged them with manufacturing, trafficking and possession of restricted‑use weapons, as well as manufacturing and trafficking narcotics. None of the accused accepted the charges. The court placed six of the suspects in a detention center; Prasca Reales was ordered to serve her sentence under house arrest.

The case underscores ongoing efforts by Colombian law‑enforcement to curb small‑scale drug distribution and related violent crime in the region.
