Severe burn incidents reported in São Paulo and Paraná
Two separate incidents involving severe burns have been reported in Brazil.
In Águas de São Pedro, São Paulo, 31-year-old maintenance technician Luiz Filipe Alves Arthur died after suffering burns to 92% of his body. The injury occurred during an explosion at the Fonte Almeida Salles while he was performing maintenance work. Family members suggested that accumulated gas may have contributed to the blast. The Civil Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
In Londrina, Paraná, an elderly man experiencing homelessness, identified as Reginaldo Trovão, was attacked with boiling water. The victim sustained serious burns to his face, arms, back, scalp, and buttocks. He was transported in serious condition to the Burn Treatment Center at the Londrina University Hospital. The Civil Police are currently reviewing surveillance footage to identify the perpetrator.
