Severe Flooding Hits Soledad de Graciano Sánchez, Mexico
Heavy rains during the night of Thursday and early Friday caused extensive flooding in several neighborhoods of Soledad de Graciano Sánchez, San Luis Potosí. Streets such as Lanzagorta, Chapultepec and Las Flores saw water rise above sidewalks, and the rising water entered homes, threatening furniture and appliances. Residents blamed clogged sewers, citing accumulated trash that slows drainage and forces water to pool for hours. The municipal government deployed suction pumps to remove standing water, yet locals complained that prior requests for sewer cleaning had not been acted upon. By midday the worst of the inundation had receded, but the episode highlighted ongoing concerns about drainage maintenance and municipal response during the rainy season.
