Severe hailstorm hits Kansas with golf‑ball sized hail

A severe thunderstorm complex swept across central and eastern Kansas, producing hailstones the size of golf balls—some exceeding two inches in diameter. Photographs shared online show the large hail shattering windows and denting vehicles, while local authorities reported only minor property damage and no confirmed injuries. At the same time, the Storm Prediction Center noted a cluster of supercell storms expanding into northeastern Kansas and western Missouri, with damaging straight‑line winds of 60‑70 mph and a continuing risk of tornadoes into the evening.
