Slovenian towns battered by flash floods and wind damage

A strong storm swept across western Slovenia, bringing heavy rain, hail and gale‑force winds. The hardest hit area was the Krajn municipality, where 33 emergency interventions were recorded as water burst into homes, basements and commercial premises. Wind snapped trees and tore roofs, while hail damaged fruit orchards and other crops. Rescue crews pumped water, cleared debris and secured damaged structures across the affected municipalities, including Gorenja Vas‑Poljana, Gorenja Vas‑Požlane and Naklo. No injuries have been reported, but material losses to residential buildings and agricultural land are significant. Meteorological services warned that further localized showers and gusts could follow later in the day.
