Severe storms cause damage and injuries across Baden-Württemberg

Severe thunderstorms, heavy rain, and hail caused widespread damage across parts of southern Germany, specifically in Baden-Württemberg.

In Treuchtlingen, heavy storms and hail led to 13 emergency responses by the local fire department. Fallen trees and branches damaged vehicles, particularly near the train station, and a traffic sign struck a car. The Marienkirche church also sustained damage to its windows due to hail, and several residential roofs required repairs after tiles were torn off by wind gusts.

In Freiburg, three people, including two children, were slightly injured by a fallen tree. The storms also caused power outages in parts of the city. In the Konstanz district, fallen trees forced the closure of a railway line between Stahringen and Stockach, leading to delays and replacement services for several lines. Other regions, including Tuttlingen and Tübingen, reported fallen trees and scaffolding collapses, though no further injuries were reported in those areas.
