Severe weather threats target Nebraska and the Heartland

Severe weather threats are active across parts of the central United States, specifically targeting Nebraska and the Cape Girardeau region.

In Nebraska, a severe thunderstorm watch is in effect. Forecasters warn of potential wind gusts reaching up to 75 mph and large hail, possibly the size of golf balls. There is also a risk of quick-spinning tornadoes as storms move from northwest to eastern Nebraska. While the overall threat may diminish over time, intense storm cores remain a concern.

In the Cape Girardeau area, isolated severe storms have been identified with a marginal risk level. The primary concern for these storms is damaging winds. Temperatures in the region are expected to remain warm, with highs reaching the upper 80s and low 90s as storm systems move through the Heartland.
