Severe storms sweep central Italy, prompting cleanup in Pesaro and fire‑service response in Trento

Heavy rain and strong gusts struck central Italy in late July, affecting the coastal city of Pesaro and the mountain area of Trento. In Pesaro, mayor Andrea Biancani urged the regional contractor Marche Multiservizi to intensify street‑cleaning after wind‑blown debris clogged roads and sidewalks. The contractor reported that some sweepers had been immobilised by the storm, but service was fully restored and crews are now concentrating on the most affected zones.

In Trento, the night of 30 July saw gusts tear off tiles, topple trees and damage vineyards, with landslides reported in the Pergolese district. The Vigili del Fuoco worked throughout the night to clear debris, secure homes and assist farmers, reporting no serious injuries but significant property and agricultural losses.
