Severe supercell storm damages parts of France

A powerful supercell passed through France, producing large hail up to 6‑7 cm, strong wind gusts that blew down trees, damaged roofs and trapped several cars under fallen branches. The storm caused significant local damage but no casualties were reported.

In a separate weather record, the city of Nîmes experienced an exceptionally sunny and hot period in June, with 377 hours of sunshine (+21 % over the norm), a 38 % deficit in rainfall, and maximum temperatures reaching 39.5 °C. The month set a new high‑average temperature record and recorded ten tropical nights, the latest being a minimum of 24.8 °C on 29 June.
