Severe thunderstorms and heavy rain forecast across Iranian provinces

The National Center for Weather Forecasting and Disaster Management, led by Saeed Ziaian, issued a yellow weather warning for Tehran and warned of heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong winds in eleven provinces, including Gilan, Mazandaran, Alborz, Tehran, and parts of the Caspian Sea coast. The forecast covers the period from 15 August to 18 August, with intense rain and gusts expected especially in the afternoons and evenings, and possible dust storms in eastern and central regions.

Temperatures are expected to reach up to 36 °C in Tehran, with extreme heat of 50 °C forecast for Ahvaz, while cooler conditions are predicted for Ardabil and Shahr-e Kord. The warnings also note potential hail and temporary strong wind gusts in mountainous areas.
