Severe weather causes tree falls in Tehuacán and flooding in Mérida

Severe weather conditions have caused localized damage across different regions of Mexico. In Tehuacán, Puebla, wind gusts estimated between 40 and 55 kilometers per hour caused a tree to fall onto a wall in the Venustiano Carranza neighborhood. Municipal Parks and Gardens personnel were deployed to clear the area and mitigate risks to residents.

In Mérida, Yucatán, a torrential storm with wind speeds reaching up to 64.4 kilometers per hour caused significant disruption. The storm, characterized by cumulonimbus clouds reaching heights of over 15 kilometers, resulted in heavy flooding in the city center, where rainfall reached 31.2 mm. The intense precipitation turned streets into rivers, complicating visibility and transit for drivers and pedestrians.
