Severe weather threats identified for Oklahoma and Texas

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a mesoscale discussion regarding severe weather potential for western Oklahoma and northwest/west-central Texas. While a formal watch is considered unlikely, isolated strong wind gusts and hail are possible. The most probable peak wind gusts are estimated between 55-70 mph, with potential hail sizes up to 1.25 inches.

In related severe weather activity, storm tracking near the Kansas and Oklahoma border has highlighted volatile environments. Supercells have been observed moving through areas including Moline and near Elk City, with some storms receiving tornado warnings as they develop in unstable atmospheric conditions.
