Severe Zagreb Car Crash Injures Three, Police File Criminal Complaint
A serious traffic collision occurred on Ljubljanska Avenue in Zagreb when a 37‑year‑old driver of a BMW failed to adjust speed to road conditions, collided with a Virovitica‑registered Audi and then lost control. The BMW rolled onto a public lighting pole, while the Audi was thrown into a guardrail. The BMW driver sustained severe injuries and was treated at Sestre milosrdnice Hospital; a 53‑year‑old female passenger and a 19‑year‑old female passenger were also seriously injured and received care at Zagreb Clinical Hospital.
Zagreb police have opened a criminal investigation and are filing a complaint against the BMW driver under article 227 of the Penal Code for causing a traffic accident. The road was closed for several hours while investigators gathered evidence and traffic was rerouted.
