Seville prepares humanitarian aid shipment for Cuba

Authorities and solidarity groups in Seville, Spain, are organizing a humanitarian shipment to Cuba to mitigate the impact of United States sanctions. The initiative, coordinated with the Cuban Ministry of Public Health, aims to deliver medical supplies, sanitary materials, and food to two hospitals and two nursing homes in Morón, located in the Ciego de Ávila province.

The shipment is supported by various organizations, including Izquierda Unida, Sodepaz, Alucema, and the Vilma Espín Association, with transport funding provided by the Provincial Council of Seville. Officials noted that the US blockade has created extraterritorial difficulties for shipping companies, insurers, and financial entities operating with Cuba. If logistics and shipping schedules permit, the container is expected to depart Spain in early October and arrive in Cuba by November.
