Eskişehir wildfire spreads to reforestation area in Seyitgazi district

A fire broke out around 14:40 on a cultivated field in the Seyitgazi district of Eskişehir Province, Turkey. Strong winds caused the blaze to jump to a nearby reforestation zone, prompting a large-scale response.

Authorities deployed a helicopter, six water tankers, two dozers, four graders, two TOMA vehicles, an ambulance and 73 personnel from the fire department, police, gendarmerie, AFAD, the Red Crescent and other agencies. Governor Dr. Erdinç Yılmaz reported that teams were fighting the fire from both air and ground and urged residents to exercise extreme caution during hot weather.

Firefighters continued to work to contain the flames; no casualties or major property damage were reported at the time of the updates.
