Sfakia approves new tourism administration vocational program

The Public SAEK Chania has announced the approval of a new vocational specialty, ‘Tourism Administration and Economics Executive,’ at its off-site department in Sfakia. This initiative follows the successful implementation of the ‘Mountain Guide’ program.

In collaboration with the Municipality of Sfakia, the new program is set to launch for the 2026-2027 academic year. The project aims to decentralize public vocational training, providing rural youth with the opportunity to specialize in fields that meet the specific demands of the local tourism market without leaving their community.

Mayor Ioannis Zervos described the approval as a significant achievement for the local society, emphasizing that the goal is to provide young people with the tools to study, work, and thrive locally. Interested applicants can apply through the official electronic platform starting in September.
